Three Las Vegas Schools recognized as 2021 National Blue Ribbon Schools

Every year, the U.S. Department of Education honor schools with the National Blue Ribbon, based on overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among certain populations of students.

This year, THREE Las Vegas Valley schools have earned this national recognition. Two of them are Clark County School District campuses, including Hill Elementary School in Las Vegas and Lamping Elementary School in Henderson. The third is Pinecrest Academy of Nevada Inspirada, a public charter school in Henderson.

Lamping and Hill elementary schools are recognized in the “Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing” category. Pinecrest Academy of Nevada Inspirada, a K-8 school, is recognized in the “Exemplary High Performing Schools” category.

CCSD Superintendent Jesus Jara said in a statement that the honor is a “true testament to the hard work and dedication of every teacher, support professional, and administrator at these two schools.”

Nevada Governer Steve Sisolak said “Congratulations to the students, educators, staff, families, and other members of the three Nevada school communities receiving this exceptional recognition. These schools have achieved academic excellence and will serve as models to all Nevada schools.”

They are among the 325 nationwide schools to receive this honor. So if your kids go to these schools, hold your head high and be sure to get one of those bumper stickers to brag that your kid goes to one of these great schools.
