  • Sankofa Conversations: Continuing the Journey is a three-part workshop series consisting of book discussions and dialogue using the past to understand issues impacting the African-American community for today and tomorrow. Reference books for this series include “The Isis Papers: The Keys to the Colors” by Dr. Frances Cress Welsing, “Incidents In The Life of A Slave Girl” by Harriet Ann Jacobs, (aka Linda Brent), and “Tears We Cannot Stop” by Dr. Michael Eric Dyson.

Ranger-Guided Hike at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park

  • Join park staff on a ranger-led hike to the heights of Sandstone Canyon, and beneath the eaves of our three-hundred year old ash tree grove! This hike is about two miles long, and will cover rocky, uneven terrain. Please dress appropriately, wear closed-toed shoes, and bring water. This hike is appropriate for children ages seven and older. Dogs are welcome, as long as they are on a 6 foot or shorter leash and under control at all times. This event does not require a sign up or reservation and will start promptly at 10 a.m.


Discovery Walk: The Secret World of Badgers at Clark County Wetlands Park
