Have you heard the news? The Las Vegas 51s will now be called the Las Vegas Aviators. The name change of the minor league team for the Oakland A's corresponds with a move to the new Las Vegas Stadium, which will be opening in 2019 in Summerlin.
The name change to the Aviators was predicted back in June, when it was discovered that variations of "Las Vegas Aviators" had been claimed on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Domain names such as lasvegasaviatorsbaseball.com, aviatorslasvegas.com, vegasaviatorsbaseball.com and many more were also bought.
