There's a new addition at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage! A female bottlenose dolphin calf was born to Sofi, a first-time mother, on August 11th. According to a press release from The Mirage regarding the new calf:
She has quickly taken to her surroundings, is nursing well and bonding with her mother as she closely follows mom around the habitat. Sofi has taken to motherhood with a zest and is proving to be a fin-tastic mom.
If you would like to see the new calf, you're welcome to see her and her mother Sofi during normal operating hours at Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. They are currently in the Birthing and Research pool, which is open to the public.
