Historic Silver Slipper Sign Restored To Original Colors By Neon Museum

Have you been to the Neon Museum lately? In front of the Museum, in the median along Las Vegas Boulevard north, is the famous Silver Slipper. The sign rotated on top of the Silver Slipper Gambling Hall & Saloon, which opened in 1950 and closed in 1988. For many years now the slipper has been on display with a silver, gold and red paint theme (consistent with its time during the later years at the casino). Now the slipper has been restored to its original silver, gold and blue paint theme.

The Silver Slipper sign currently sits along Las Vegas' National Scenic Byway stretch, which is along Las Vegas Boulevard between Sahara and Washington. See below for photos of the newly re-painted sign, the prior color scheme, as well as an old home movie of the Silver Slipper atop the casino back in 1956!
