Yuck - that's HOT! The "World's Largest Thermometer" in Baker, California showed a temperature of 120°F yesterday.
The thermometer was built in 1991 and is 134 feet tall, to commemorate the hottest recorded temperature in nearby Death Valley (134°F). The thermometer was also designed to display that record 134°F temperature, if Baker ever gets that hot. Let's hope it doesn't ever show that temperature!
The #WorldsTallestThermometer made it to 120 degrees Tuesday in Baker, California. @sherryswensk showed the picture from the iconic landmark's facebook page on @8NewsNow Wednesday morning, and I gave some of the history of iconic landmark for drivers on I-15. #8NN pic.twitter.com/7UzN13qSmM— Nathan Tannenbaum (@ntannenbaum) July 25, 2018
