What To Do In Las Vegas: Weekend of July 21st & 22nd

It's that time again! Here's a look at some of the little-known things you can do this weekend around Las Vegas. You can participate in a variety of activities all weekend long, many of which are family-friendly! Click on the event name to get all the information.

Art Stamps & Cards at Clark County Wetlands Park

  • Create an art stamp of your own design, inspired by the shapes and patterns at Wetlands Park with members from Nevada Humanities. Ages 5+. Pre-registration not required.


Storytime Train at Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City

  • 10:00am, 11:30am, or 1:00pm (the 2:30pm ride has been cancelled due to the heat)
  • $10 (ages 12+), $5 (children 4-11), 3 and under are FREE

  • Bring the kids (regardless of age) and have a fun time riding the train, coloring, doing a craft, and listening to a children's story.  Purchase regular tickets to ride the train and join our Storytime Crew in the dining car of the train, on the regularly scheduled train runs (10AM, 11:30AM, 1PM).  We furnish the coloring pages and markers, craft materials, and the story.  Sit with your kids, have fun, take photos or videos, and watch the beautiful desert scenery from the comfort of our train.


Photography For Teens: You're Good At This Already! at Clark County Wetlands Park

  • Use tools you already have to improve your photography style using composition skills such as framing, shapes, and background. Please bring your own digital camera device or camera phone to use during the class. Ages 13-17. Registration required.


Pioneer Day at Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park

  • $3.00 (museum admission), 12 & under FREE

  • Celebrate the pioneer lifestyle with one of the fort's biggest events of the year. This family-friendly affair will feature pioneer games, children’s crafts, food concessions, live music, and more!


Summer Family Program at Nevada State Museum: "Pioneers"

  • Museum/Springs Preserve admission

  • Kids of all ages are invited to join us in the Education Room on Saturday afternoons from 1 to 5 pm to enjoy hands-on, drop-in activities. Families can explore Nevada topics through demonstrations, activities, and art projects. No registration is required, and programs are free with regular museum admission.


Christmas In July - Hawaii Style! at Clark County Library

  • The graceful hula dancers of Na Hula Halia Aloha return to our Main Theater for a winter celebration in the middle of summer! Enjoy holiday songs in the aloha spirit and escape the heat as Na Hula Halia Aloha showcase authentic songs and dances representing Hawaiian history and folklore. Mele Kalikimaka!


Grupo Folklorico Libertad de Las Vegas at Winchester Cultural Center

  • Grupo Folklorico Libertad de Las Vegas is a talented folkloric dance troupe that will be performing their show “Folkloreada Las Vegas” at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, at Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, just north of Desert Inn Road.
