Las Vegas' own Bryce Harper won the 2018 Home Run Derby on Monday night, smashing 9 homers in under a minute (after being down to the Cub's Kyle Schwarber 18-9 at the final round). Harper brought along his father as his designated Derby pitcher.
Harper, a Las Vegas native, attended Las Vegas High School and College of Southern Nevada, then was picked up by the Washington Nationals in the 2010 draft. Since then he has been named the 2012 National League Rookie of the Year, 2015 National League MVP, a six-times All-Star (2012-2013, 2015-2018), and recipient of many more accolades. He can now add 2018 Home Run Derby winner to his list of accomplishments.
Congratulations!
