Build-A-Bear Promotion Causes Chaos At Local Malls

If you were planning on taking advantage of Build-A-Bear's "Pay Your Age" promotion today, you may want to stay home! Lines have been very long (as seen in the videos below) and in some places around the country the stores have had to cap lines once they reached a certain capacity. Some stores closed completely due to demand and safety restrictions.

The "Pay Your Age" promotion, which allows guests to purchase one of the company's stuffed animals at a price equivalent to the age of the child or children the guest has brought with them, was first reported on July 9th. Lucky guests could get a Build-A-Bear for $1 if they had their 1-year-old, or $5 for their 5-year-old, etc.  However, this first-time event proved to be far more popular than previously anticipated. To view some of the chaos, search "Build-A-Bear" on almost any social media platform!

As of the writing of this article, the Build-A-Bear at Galleria Mall is still open, but could close at any time.

In an effort to make customers happy, Build-A-Bear has now offered $15 off coupons to their Bonus Club members, which can be redeemed at a later time.
