Raiders Players Make First Community Appearance At Local School

Yesterday NFL players from the Raiders came to Las Vegas in their first community appearance.  They stopped by Gene Ward Elementary School, where they took the opportunity to thank the teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.

The Raiders players also chose the winner of the shovel design contest: 3rd grader Guadalupe Galicia Hernandez. The contest recognized the team's groundbreaking and welcome to the community. Because of her winning design, Hernandez and 4 other students will attend the groundbreaking next Wednesday for the Kids Construction Zone at the Discovery Children's Museum.  Their art will be displayed on shovels at the event.
