A luxury car dealer says a $420,000 Rolls-Royce being delivered to his dealership was intercepted by an experienced thief who requested it be dropped off at a different location.

Stephen Waisman, the general manager of Limited Spec Automobile, told NBC Miami that a 2022 Rolls-Royce Cullinan purchased in Michigan was scheduled to arrive in Miami Saturday (June 22).

“We set up transport with a transporter we’ve used in the past,” Waisman said. “On Saturday morning around 9 a.m., the driver received a text message from a different number, stating to meet him at a different location.”

The driver took the vehicle to the other location and Limited Spec Automobile hadn't inquired about the car until 4:00 p.m., at which point it was already delivered to the thieves. Waisman said he exchanged messages with the number that contacted the driver, which belonged to someone unaffiliated with the dealership.

“This gentleman, you can tell he’s a professional,” Waisman told NBC Miami. “He sent us pictures of the trackers that were on the car, and he’s like, ‘I got your trackers.’”

The car has not yet been located and no arrests have been made in relation to the incident. A Mercedes Maybach GLS was previously stolen from Limited Spec Automobile, but later recovered as the thieves were caught by police.
