Nirvana Sues Designer Marc Jacobs

This is such an obvious rip off...wow..

According to Pitchfork:

Nirvana have sued fashion designer Marc Jacobs, as well as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, for copyright infringement, TMZand Forbes report. Jacobs' recent “Redux Grunge” collection, which pays tribute to his infamous 1993 “grunge” collection for Perry Ellis, features a t-shirt, sweatshirt, and socks that bear a striking resemblance to an iconic Nirvana t-shirt, featuring the band's smiley face logo.

The suit claims that Jacobs’ unauthorized “use of Nirvana’s copyrighted image on and to promote its products is intentional, and is part and parcel of a wider campaign to associate the entire 'Bootleg Redux Grunge' collection with Nirvana, one of the founders of the 'Grunge' musical genre, so as to make the 'Grunge' association with the collection more authentic.”
